Iknow that liturgically, the Orthodox amongst our number did this back September, and others at the beginning of December, but I just wanted to wish everybody the best for the new year. And thank you for a wonderfully entertaining, informative and personal blog.
God grant you many, many years; and I know 2006 will be a truly blessed year for you. I greatly look forward to sharing it, and your baptism especially, with you.
Indeed this is the finest blog around! Thank you for everything, for your intelligent comments, the beautiful icons and photos, the fascinating links...everything, especially for just being =you=!
May 2006 be full of God's richest blessings for you and everyone you love. Any year that is the year one became Orthodox will be just that!

Thanks, both. Your posts have even more significance right now than you perhaps realise, due to plns that were made today, but more of that in an upcoming post.
In the meantime, I've just been reminded of a hymn that we used to sing at the end of our watchnight Mass in St Kitts. This is the first verse:
Father, let me dedicate
all this year to thee,
in whatever worldly state
thou wouldst have me be.
Not from sorrow, pain or care,
freedom dare I claim;
this alone shall be my prayer:
'Glorify thy name!'
