May I enquire as to why you're hanging on to the stole (?) (sorry my clerical dress knowledge is zip) in photo 1?
The stole as the symbolon of the priest's authority - one takes hold of the stole and is lead by it. One way of seeing it is that we all enter the Kingdom as little children, so we have to be led (and, led by authority.)
